This series about DCI Wilson just keeps better with each book. Believable characters, a plot with several twists, kept me reading until the final page, eager to discover the outcome. Derek Fee is an author you must catch up on, if you haven't read any of his books yet. A great read and I look forward to the next instalment.
I loved the Ian Wilson series, and it's actually a series I could read again. When it ended I suspected Fee had decided to sit back and enjoy retirement, so I was thrilled to find Connemara Girl and a second one which I have not yet read. Fiona and Ashling, her partner, are fully fleshed-out characters as is Fiona's partner on the job, Detective Tracy. The central characters navigate a more rural setting than Belfast and problems arise from the general distrust and suspicion of the locals. The plot of Connemara Girl is gripping which is no surprise if you've read the Ian Wilson books.
I've really enjoyed this series. This is one of my go to authors, as he has 2 other series I really enjoy. I'm anxious to see what happens in the next book!
Another great can't-put-it-down read by Derek Fee, a terrific cast of characters and another perfect setting in Galway City and Connemara. I can't wait for the next book, to see where Fiona and Tracey end up, with new leader Gorman, new roles for themselves, and the next crime waiting to be solved, nothing comes easy to the team. Thank you to Derek Fee for such wonderful collection.
